His love for sport came from watching Grandstand on Saturday afternoons. His first sporting memory was watching Linford Christie win 100m Gold at Olympic Games Barcelona 1992. He attended Barking Abbey Sports College where his love of sport flourished. Football was one of JJ’s favourite sports, becoming National Schools Champions at 14 and having trials at Norwich and Tottenham Hotspur. Unfortunately JJ was diagnosed with Osgood–Schlatter, a growing pain which stopped him from playing football. Once his growing pains subsided, he decided to pursue his other passions for sports. JJ stumbled into the world of athletics through a teacher and went on to compete for Great Britain as a long jumper. He also became an inspirational speaker working with Sky Sports and O2. In 2014 JJ was selected for the England team at the Commonwealth Games and later on in the summer for the Great Britain team at the European Championships. He has won the UK Championships Indoors twice and has a personal best of 8 meters 11 centimetres in the Long Jump. With over 6 years of experience in the Health and Fitness industry, I am passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals, gain confidence, and transform their lives. My own fitness journey began over 20 years ago when I was a chubby kid. As my weight escalated to the point of medical obesity, my GP referred me to youth gym specially designed for overweight children.
